He aquí fragmentos
de algunas de las patentes sobre material criptógrafico que existen en el
archivo histórico de la
OEPM (Oficina
Española de Patentes y Marcas). De momento, y por asunto de espacio, sólo
incluyo los diagramas y planos.

Patente 89546: Máquina para cifrar.
Emitida el 19-Mayo-1924 a favor de
Naamlooze Vennotschap
Ingenieursbureau Securitas (la empresa
holandesa de Hugo Koch, uno de los padres de la máquina Enigma. David Kahn
incluye el mismo diagrama en su Codebreakers (p. 423), pero él lo atribuye a la
Patente de EEUU número 1.657.411 fechada el 24-Enero-1928, a nombre de Artur
Scherbius. Según Frederich L. Bauer, "Scherbius ... compró [¿en 1927?] las
patentes de Koch" (Cryptologia, Julio 1999)

Emitida el 24-Mayo-1924 a favor de
Naamlooze Vennotschap
Ingenieursbureau Securitas Ambas
patentes de Securitas caducaron en Julio de 1931.

Patente 89550:
Aparato eléctrico de teclas para cifrar. Emitida el 20-Mayo-1924 a
favor de Chffriermaschinen Aktiengesellschaft (sí, los fabricantes de
Enigma). Es un modelo Enigma de lo más extraño: sin reflector, !y con sólo
dos rotores! Véanse los diagramas 1,

3. Compárense con los diagramas

6) de la patente alemana para un "Elektrische
Tastenchiffriervorrichtung" (Aparato eléctrico de teclas para cifrar)",nº
C.34348 IX/42n. de fecha 17-Ene-1924 (se incluyó una copia de dicha patente
alemana en la patente española). Extrañamente, este es el único modelo de
Enigma patentado en España.

including the diagrams (space matters!).

Patent 89546: Ciphering machine.
Issued on 19-May-1924 on behalf of
Naamlooze Vennotschap
Ingenieursbureau Securitas (Hugo Koch´s
dutch company). Kahn´s book Codebreakers includes the same diagram (p.
423), but assigns it to US Patent number 1.657.411, dated 24-January-1928, and
issued to Artur Scherbius. According to Frederich L. Bauer, "Scherbius ...
did indeed buy [1927?] the Koch patents" (Cryptologia, July 1999)

Securitas patents expired on July 1931.

Patent 89550:
Electric-key enciphering machine. Issued on 20-May-1924 on behalf of
Chffriermaschinen Aktiengesellschaft (that´s right, the Enigma makers).
Most oddly, it´s a non-reflector, two-rotor machine! See diagrams

6) included in German Patent for an "Elektrische
Tastenchiffriervorrichtung" (Electric-key enciphering machine)", number C.34348
IX/42n. dated 17-Jan-1924 (a copy of the German patent was included in the
Spainsh patent). Oddly, this is the only Enigma model patented in Spain.
